MADE at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

I am also exhibiting in this years MADE at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which opens on 11th November and is on till 27th February 2011.

MADE highlights the talents of graduates and exciting new designers in the UK and across the world.

Among this year’s selection, Holly Ross produces delicate fine bone china lighting and creates translucent interior worlds
inspired by fairytales and architectural details. Katie Heeks makes multilayered scenes known as Gardens of Delight,
incorporating lasercut silhouettes and vintage fabrics.

Also showcased is work by 30 jewellers, from beautiful, timeless pieces in silver and gold with semi-precious gem stones, to other more unexpected yet equally wearable items made from pencil crayons.

To complement the MADE exhbition there will also be new work by jewellers and graduates for sale in the YSP shop.

LUX

LUX opened on Saturday and is on till the end of the year.

In the darkest part of the year, we all need a little light in our lives.

Our winter exhibition presents work from London based sculptors and designers, James Plumb (Hannah Plumb and James Russell). Light is a central theme in their work which takes forgotten and overlooked objects, transforming them into beautiful and functional new pieces.

Other artists and makers in the show reflect on the domestic, the beautiful and the well crafted. Some use up-cycled and reclaimed materials in their work, bringing discarded pieces back into the spotlight in a new form. Other artists' work celebrates the simple and the functional in daily life.

The show includes:

Justine Allison, Donya Coward, Gareth Hugh Davies, Ivor Davies, Virginia Graham, Eloise Grey, Ainsley Hillard, Buddug Wyn Humphreys, Caitlin Jenkins, Carol Kingsbury Gwizdak, Anna Lewis, Laura Plant, Jo Pond, Hetty Rose, Holly Ross, Serena Rowe, Gwyn Williams, Daniel Wright and Mizuyo Yamashita.
